Both my nonverbal activity and my informative speech are available on this site and were submitted to the National Communication Association Conference for their Great Ideas for Teaching Students (G.I.F.T.S), which is a resource-sharing experience focused on bringing practical and innovative ideas to other communication faculty. I did this for a few reasons,
The digital application of these assignments means that any faculty member can bring these assignments into their classrooms through the Smithsonian online collections.
Informative Speeches are one of the most common assignments you can find in a basic communication course. We all hear the same speeches every semester - any new approach is welcome.
These assignments are both slightly more AI-resistant.
Finally, while I am partial to the Smithsonian, of course, these assignments can be applied in local museums as well. It all still works!
